An 8 hectare (19 acre) former brickworks and landfill site has been regenerated in Lache with funding from FCC Communities Foundation and Heritage Lottery Funding via Chester Zoo’s Network for Nature programme.

The works included removal of over 55 tonnes of fly-tipping to create a fantastic new open space for residents to enjoy and nature to thrive. The site is already open to the public. See more: The Backies / LAPA Fields | Cheshire West and Chester Council

Before and after photos show the dramatic transformation.
